What do you think will happen to BBC in the future? what might they try to do adapt and compete in the future? :
for the bbc there success in the uk if great, they are the biggest tv company in Britain and for them it is vital that they adapt. so by what i have noticed the way tv if adapting they will put more effort into there online services rather then there tv brodcasts. the way netflix and other tv channels like channel four and itv. although the bbc already has iplayer it is not as widly used as netfilx which is the king of internet viewing tv so as more people go to that service less people will watch on tv and the bbc need to be prepare for this
How is technology impacting on the overall industry and audience :
as technology moves forward more and interesting ways of watching tv channels ,on tablets, smartphones, computers and games consoles. tv has a much wider audience as it can now be shown on multiple platforms so the media is there for more people to view it. film making is getting more efficient
How are BBC using advancements in technology and why are they using it in this way? :
since the BBC has been broadcasting its production technology has always been the best that they can provide and as technology moves forward. this always makes jobs easier to do from editing to camera operating these jobs are vital for production and for the advancement of tech it will make it alot harder to make mistakes in the tv industry and the film industry. a example of the technology
Should the BBC be funded in this way? why? :
TV licence is a good way for the BBC to earn as the population pay for entertainment and on BBC channels no adverts but some people feel this is a waste on tax payers money and would rather have free tv with adverts than pay for tv and a downside is that the tv licence price is increasing year by year and people are debating weather or not to add adverts on the BBC or keep the tv licence
BBC
the bbc is a public company. this is because it is owned by the british public. every house hold with a tv must pay a fee called a TV licence. the cost of this licence is £ 145 you must pay once a year this is so that the bbc can produce shows. because it is owned by the people they must show tv that every one wants to see such top gear and sherlock holmes.
the remit of the bbc is entertain educate inform this means that they have to show tv shows that correlate back to there remit. for entertain they show top gear which is one of there biggest shows, for educate the put on wild life shows such as spring watch and for inform they have the news. as they dont have any sponcer ship there budgets are limed were channel 4 has adverts so they can have biger budgets.
because of there remit the most cover everything that is why they have several channels such as bbc 1 2 3 4 and cbbc this is so that they can put on different shows on at any time it also covers the age groups so that older people dont have to watch children shows.
the bbc flag ships shows are top gear and sherlock holmes. these are the bbc biggest shows because they highest viewing rates. top gear because of it is that famous it goes all around the world and in some countries they are bring out there own a quiverlant of it. both of these shows are entertain this means the public wants to watch enteraiment rather than educate and inform, they also have a bigger budget because they are the flag ship shows.
SONY
the structure of sony pictures is a global public company. this is because sony pictures is based in holly wood but goes all around the world. the reason why sony pictures is a public company is because you can buy shares they start from $21.67 (www.marketwatch.com) the resurrections that they have to accommodate for all of there share holders. one of there share holders is could picture this allows them to buy there own share such as mavel spider man. (www.sonypicuter.net) (www.sonyglobal.net)
Sonys brand identity is investing into big films and making them bigger. this has been proven by taking 1982 Annie which was a block busters success and then making a more modern version which also made the headlines (www.slideshare.com) (www.sonypitures.net) sony is know in the film industry in investing into films which have been proven to have a good results such as the original spider mans.
sony flag ship films are spider man and the ghost buster this is because these films helped sony to competed against over film companies such as warner brothers. they were made successful because the hammered the advertisement (www.imd.com) the amazing spider man 2 sony paid $ 250 millon to + $ 100 millon. this is a large budget for a squeal mavel film. there connet they make tends to be action and comedy but they have to cover all there genere because it is a public company.
What do you think will happen to the film company and hollywood in the future? what might they try to do to adapt and complete in the future? :
even now technology is rising and improving in the film industry, 4D movie theaters are starting to pick up in the uk and america and i think that when 4D is more prevalent in the film industry sony because it is a big technology power house and they will be able to use this to there advantage with the 4D cinema and gain a bigger audience in there 4D films than other movie companies who wish to use this technology. if sony create a good efficent design for a 4D cinima they could patent that design and gain alot of money on the companies that want to use it and they could control that type of cinima if done correctly.
How is technology impacting on the overall industry and audience?
sony is very big in the tech industry so they had a good influence on this tech especially in the film industry
